Poco introduced its entry -level smartphone – Poco C51 in the market some time ago, which costs around 8 thousand rupees. There are many smartphones in this range, but there are very few, which can give you the same value in terms of price. At its price, the smartphone competes with smartphones like Lava Yuva 2 Pro and Moto E13 present in the market. Both smartphones bring some good features. In such a situation, in the price range of Rs 8,000, Poco C51 can prove to be a good purchase in Vakai? Learn in this review.

Poco C51: Price in India

Poco C51 has been launched in only 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configurations, priced at Rs 7,999. It has been introduced in two color options named Power Black and Royal Blue, of which we had a Royal Blue color variant for review.

Poco C51: Design and Display

The entry-level segment is often with the device that their designs are very simple and the build quality is not seen much, but this is not the case with POCO C51. The smartphone comes with better design, grip and build quality than its rivals. It has a polycarbonate back panel, which has a granular texture. My experience of holding it in hand for a long time was good. It gets good grip and weight is divided in such a way that it does not feel heavy in the hand, even if it weighs 192 grams.

A small camera module is found in the back, which includes dual camera setup and a LED flash. The module has a low bulge. At the same time, waterdrop style notch has been given in the front. As an entry-level smartphone, you will also get to see thick bezels all around. The volume and lock/unlock/power button is fitted on the right side of the frame. The phone is relatively slightly larger, due to which you may have to make some importance to reach the volume button while using one hand. The fingerprint sensor has been fitted in the center upwards in the back and it is easy to reach there. The bottom has a micro USB port with a 3.5mm headphone Jackie and a single speaker above the frame, which is quite loud. On the left side is a SIM slot, which also supports a microSD card with two SIMs. Overall, the design of Poco C51 is good as an entry-level smartphone.

At the same time, talking about the display, the POCO C51 has a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display, which is equipped with standard refresh rate and HD+ resolution. The display is not much crisp, but the quality is above average. In this, the colors appear slightly dull and you do not get the option to adjust them. Its peak brightness is 400nits, which may be low in paper, but I did not have any difficulty in seeing the content in direct sunlight. Overall, the display quality is above average in terms of price.

Poco C51: Performance

Poco C51 gets MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and has been launched in a single 4GB RAM variant. The company has given Android 13 Go Edition in the smartphone, in a way the light version of Android 13. I hoped that chipset light would work with Android version, but it was not with my unit. Along with the first boot, I also found the phone slow in common uusat. The app loading time was more and the transition was seen. Being an entry-level device, it was not right to expect more than the benchmark score, but still I tested it in Anuu and GFXBench. The device scored 101,771 in the AnTuTu benchmark, according to the platform, was not normal. At the same time, in GFXBench’s Car Chase Test, the phone won 338 frames, 865.9 frames in Manhattan 3.1 and 1,642 frames in T-Rex.

As far as gaming was concerned, it is not right to expect a good performance in the phone’s graphics demanding games, such as Call of Duty: Mobile or Genshin Impact, but still, the phone was capable of running the call of duty: mobile. However, the load time was very high and during gaming, even the lowest graphics settings were seen at some places. But, the smartphone had smooth experience of games like Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, Shadow Fight 4.

Poco C51: Battery and Software

The Poco C51 provides a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 10W charging. The device can comfortably take out about 2 days comfortably with a little social media scrolling, a little instant messaging and calling and a few hours of media streaming. In our HD video loop test, the phone lasted about 15 hours 13 minutes in full charge, which is above average. However, with 10W charging you will have to wait for hours to have a full charge. I found that the phone was charged 0-21 percent in 30 minutes and 2 hours 40 minutes 0-100 percent.

With the boot I got the Android 13 Go Edition in the device and till the time I wrote the review, I received two months old March 2023 Android Security Patch update. Poco C51 gets a clean experience with Go Edition. It had a few pre-loaded apps, which could be removed. However, if you want a full customization option, then you will not get this at all here. Settings only have work options and even in the notification bar you get some important options in the form of big buttons, which you can replace or add new options to the panel. Certainly it is good for older people. Overall, I liked C51’s software much compared to mid-range and premium Poco smartphones.

Poco C51: Camera

Poco C51 provides dual rear camera setup, which includes an 8-megapixel main camera and a VGA depth sensor. The main camera works well in good light. Sometimes some shots have colored colors and the pictures came over exposed. HDR performance was also not consistent. In some pictures, the background exposed a lot. However, most of the photos were worth posting on social media without editing. Depth works as a sensor. Potitrate mode had either the photographs of the Boke effects, or the background was excessively exposed to the extent. Some pictures had a background blur, but it looked quite artificial.

Top to Bottom: Primary Camera

The main camera sensor struggled a lot in low light. Most of the pictures were slightly blurred and there was a lack of details.

Primary camera in low-light

The selfie camera is 5-megapixels, which takes good pictures in the delite in both photo and portrait mode. However, the background in portrade mode does not blur well due to poor edge detection. At the same time, the front camera, similar to the rear main sensor, also struggles a lot in low-light. As soon as the lights were reduced, the problem of leg was seen in the viewfinder and there was a lot of noise with the lack of details in the pictures.

At the same time, the video performance was also average. Dest, indoor or low-light, videos in all conditions were mildly blurred and there was also a lack of details. Both rear and front cameras support up to 1080p on 30fps. The phone comes with timelines and short video features.

Poco C51: Should you buy it?

Poco C51 at the time of its price in the market Poco C51 Direct collision Lava Yuva 2 Pro And Moto E13 Is from If you are looking for a long battery life, bright display and loud speaker with good build quality, then you can buy Poco C51, but performance is one of the biggest part, where Poco C51 disappointed me. At the same time, cameras also give average performance. On the other hand Moto E13 gives you a better low-light camera quality than Poco with good performance and also comes with USB Type-C port. You can also look at this smartphone at a similar price.
