The TV that I am going to review is part of the series which has been the most popular in India in the OLED TV series. The LG C2 range is the successor of the first I C1 and CX range. The series promises better performance and capacity, and the benfits with OLED screen technology bring to the TV. LG C2 55-inch OLED TV (OLED55C2PSC) Design and Specifications
The LG C2 series comes in a variety of sizes. It has TVs available from 42 inches (Rs 1,39,990) to 83 inches (Rs 11,74,990). The unit sent for the review was 55 inches, which costs Rs 2,19,990. All sizes of this range have TV Ultra HD (3840×2160 pixels) OLED TVs with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and all have almost identical specifications. The TV of this series also supports Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby ATMOS.
LG’s C series TVs are not known for glitter, premium design. Its 55 -inch C2 TV is also not attractive like Samsung 55QN95B. Nevertheless, the company has made it in a slim profile in which the bezels are thin, access to the port and socket is easy and the border around the screen is also thin so that you can keep more focus on the screen.
No marking has been done in the front side of TV, even LG’s logo has not been given in it. The bottom has only a power button that is placed in a module and where there is a status light and IR receiver. All ports and sockets are given in the left of the screen and can be easily accessed, even when hanging on the TV wall. Speaker is bottom firing. Overall, the design of TV is quite straightforward.
The LG C2 55 -inch TV weighs 12.7 kg without a stand and 14.4 kg with the center stand, which comes in the box itself. Stand design is such that TV can also be placed on a small table. For the review, I got TV on the wall itself. Wall mount kit is not available with TV but can be made available after a time of free installation.
Talking about TV’s ports and sockets, it has four HDMI ports. All get 4K support with 120Hz. EARC is supported in one of these. The TV has three USB Type-A Port, LAN, Optical Digital Audio-Out, Single-Solike EV-in, Antina and Cable Socks. It also has an analog socket for IR blaster. TV has no connectivity for wired headphones.
In addition, NVIDIA G-Sync, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and AMD FREESYNC support for gaming. LG C2 supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 for connectivity, and with a 2.2-channel speaker system it comes with 40W rated sound output. Television operates LG’s A9 Gen 5 AI processor at 4K. It supports many types of AI features.

LG’s magic remote concept has been quite popular. The same remote comes with C2 55 inches. It is a full size unit and has been made heavily for better grip from the bottom. The remote shows a floating cursor on the screen. You can click by setting the remote in front of the TV and setting the cursor at any point. Apart from this, scroll wheel has also been given in it and button control has also been provided. Remote is easy to use and the interface soon looks friendly.
The TV remote has Hot for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar. There are separate buttons for Google Assistant and Alexa. Usely you can use both features simultaneously on TV. This feature is usually not seen in TV. The rest of the remote is standard with buttons to open power, volume, source selection, and settings menu. You can open them at any time.
Talking about other features of TV, it has also been supported for Apple Air Play and Homkit. Together it also supports hands free voice control and AI ThinQ suit of LG. With its help, it can sensitize the surrounding lights so that the picture and sound can adjust according to it. The TV can be connected with the LG ThinQ App. You can connect it through your smartphone, after which you can use the phone as a TV remote and also change many types of settings.

LG’s web OS platform has been going on for many years which was made for the original Palm smartphones. Now it comes in the form of TV’s default operating system. It has also been changed in the last few years. Now this content has been upgraded for recommendation. Some elements spread all over the screen, such as centers and source selection Manu etc. Most of its interface covers the entire screen.
It provides home dashboard in which connected devices are shown in tile display. From here, there is a quick access for airplay and any IOT device that you have connected through LG ThinQ App. The main interface of Smart TV appears on the full screen which features Weather, Content Recomulation, Apps and web browser. As soon as you press the home button, now the things are being played, which did not happen earlier.
The popular apps you want to see in smart TVs are already installed in it like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar etc. You can install other apps by going to the library. Many types of games and social media apps have also been given in TV. Webos’s app library is quite good. Apps work the same as they work on other TV platforms.
Overall, I found its software experience a bit busy and felt that things were taking a little longer to load. Apart from this, I did not find any much problem in it and webos found useful.

LG C2 55 inch TV is obviously a premium option at a price of more than Rs 2,00,000. According to the price, it is bound to expect similar performance from it. LG’s OLED televisions are usually delivered on this basis and C2 is also no different. Talking about picture quality and overall performance, it is one of the best TVs in its segment.
If you look at its specifications, TV is ready for all types of content. It supports various HDR formats with features like Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos Audio, Pixel Level Dimping. One thing about its picture performance, which is the most special, is that it adjusts the picture according to lighting and situation in the room. With this, it is able to show the content in the best picture quality so that whatever is visible on the screen can be seen in the best form.
In this list, content with Ultra-HD Dolby Vision was at the top for me. I saw many shows and movies on TV. These included titles like Obi Wan Kenobi, The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, Uncharted, and Man vs Bee. TV performed amazing in this matter, especially when it came to contrast level.
OLED TV’s True Pixel Level means that the contrast goes to the infinite, but maintaining it in the right amount is a challenge. LG C2 does its work here and delivers such a picture quality that does not know that a lot of struggle is being done for the picture and deep blax needs to be highlighted, as is seen in the case of affordable OLED TV.
Colors were fine in their place, instead of showing bright colors, there is more focus on the accuracy of colors here. The impact of Dolby Vision’s ability to handle colors is clearly visible here. Especially when the World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals are shown very beautiful location.
According to the lighting of the room, brightness was at a perfect point. Here the AI ThinQ function of LG works and sets the picture properly. Picture collaboration is found accurate in the detailed scene of Obi Wan Kenobi. However, at times takes a few minutes to react to the change in the TV light condition, but when it does its work, the picture quality comes out with great.
OLED is not known for too much brightness levels. Here the company has claimed to make C2 more bright than previous models. This was not a problem for me because I mostly watch TV in the dim light of the room at night time. But in the day of the day, it caused trouble several times.
Unlike Samsung QN95B Mini LED TV, LG TV seems to struggle to adjust the picture in high light during the day’s time. For this, I had to drop the curtains of the room. This can become a challenge in high light rooms. Dolby Vision and HDR10 content was worth seeing in high light rooms, which occurred due to TV brightness. There was some difficulty in seeing non -HDR content in such a room. Better Call Saul’s episodes were quite detailed, which was amazing of TV’s ultra HD resolution. But in the night -time dull scenes, it was difficult to watch this wonderful show. Black levels were handled well, but the show’s sub-ibn settings caused a shortage of character and feel.
I may have a mild problem with brightness, but there was no shortage in TV’s sharpness and motion handling. In the slow scenes of Man vs Bee, TV focused on Rowan Atkinson’s facial expression. At the same time, the fast and stimulating action scenes of Uncharted looked quite clean, in which the blur level was also accurate and hardly any artifact.
The TV performs well with low resolution content and shows brightness and color levels. On Amazon Prime Video, there was disappointment at many places while watching The Batman. TV was not able to do much with low resolution and the picture in streaming looked mostly poor quality. However, in this case, the Philips AMBILIGHT 7900 series received more good results on TV. This shows that LG C2 needs to be greatly improved to process light quality content.
The LG C2 55 -inch sound quality proved to be very good at many places. Thanks to Dolby ATMOS, the sound in standard content was also clear, even if the volume is more. However, it was also a problem for me. I often have a habit of keeping TV volumes at 90 percent to hear things better. But, while watching movies like Uncharted and The Batman in this TV, I did not get the loud sound of that level. You may feel the need to install a soundbar or speaker system in it.
Our decision
Premium televisions come with huge expectations and a LG C2 55 -inch TV worth Rs 2,19,990 delivers the same type of flagship experience as you expect from it. The TV offers a wonderful viewing experience with a TV high quality content, maintaining amazing colors, contrast levels, black levels, sharpness and motion.
It also has some shortcomings. If these shortcomings match your need and viewing condition, then you may prefer to buy any of its opponents. These shortcomings include weak brightness, decreased performance with low-resolution content and built-in built-in speaker systems with low loud sound.
