Design and building
Honda Activa E has been introduced as an electric version of the ice model coming under this name, but has been included in the design. The new Activa E appears more chunky than the Ola S1 Air. However, S1 Air is larger in size. At the same time, the design style is also completely different in both. The Honda Activa Electric includes LED DRL on Handber, while a large headlight is included below. At the same time, the minimilist design has been adopted in Ola S1 Air, which has LED DRL around the handbalam.
The Activa E 1854 x 700 x 1125 comes with a size and 1310 mm wheelbase, while the size of Ola S1 Air is 1860 x 850 x 1298 mm and the wheelbase is 1359 mm. The seat length of Activa E is 675 mm, while Ola gets 738 mm seat length. The Honda scooter has 171 mm ground clearance, while the Ola scooter has 160 mm ground clearance. The Honda comes with 10–11 kg more curb weight compared to e-scooter Ola. Diamond cut alloys are available in Activa E.
Performance
Honda Activa E gives 6 kW motor, which is capable of producing 22 Nm torque. The company claims that its top speed is 80 km/h. It contains three ride modes. It has been claimed to take 7.3 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph.
At the same time, S1 Air also has a 6 kw peak hub motor, which claims the top speed of 90 kmph. The company claims that it takes 5.7 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph. The e-scooter comes with three riding modes similar to Honda.
Battery and charing
The Honda Activa E consists of swapable battery packs, including two packs of 1.5 kwh capacity (3 kWh). The company claims that this system can jointly give a 102 km company Testid range. Charging time information has not been given.
At the same time, Ola S1 Air also has a 3 kwh battery pack, but it is fixed. The company claims that the e-scooter is capable of giving a 151-km certified range in single charge, while Eco mode claims a 125-km True range. The battery has been said to take about 5 hours to take full charge from the home charger.
All other features
The Activa E includes disc brakes in the front and drum brake in the rear, while the S1 Air provides drum brakes at both ends. Honda provides a quad-core processor, 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM digital display system. It works on the Android Open Source operating system. Its size is 7 inches and is a TFT (800 x 480 pixels) panel. Its peak brightness is 1000 nits. It provides Honda Roadsync Duo variants, which provide features such as reverse mode, topl alert, maintenance alert, call or music controls, navigation, live tracking, OTA updates, side stand inhibitors. Activa E is also accompanied by a smart key, through which it can be locked or unlocked with the key.
At the same time, Ola S1 Air also has a 7-inch LED (800 x 480 pixels) panel, which is touchscreen. This includes features like side stand alert, reverse mode, OTA updates, music controls, vacation mode, cruise control, maintenance alert, navigation, GPS connectivity, Bluetooth, remote boot unlock etc.
Pricing
The prices of Activa E have not been revealed yet, while the opening ex-showroom price of Ola S1 Air is Rs 1,00,499. Honda Activa E Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai will be available for purchase from 2025. The company will also launch its battery-sharing service under the name of Honda E: Swap using mobile power pack E in the above Indian cities. This service will be operated by Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited.
